I don't mind in the slightest if you keep this story going up to 12 parts. I am thoroughly enjoying it. In fact, I may end up a little sad when it's done and there's no more parts...
And obviously I love the parallel world thing. Sort of goes without saying.
Before, I was thinking about how mean it was to put those animals into the darkness - now I see that it was foolish, too. I hope you're planning something especially nasty for that odious Count. Bleh... he's a wankerous one (Evelyn must be regretting having taught me that word by now, but it is so USEFUL! 🤣).
i have rather got side tracked with making this character as horrible as possible, instead of focusing on the idea of a small and scary portal to another dimension. oops. He did suddenly jump to life when I first wrote him down...(but basically it's jabba the hut hahah!)
Ironically - and you weren't to know this - there is a real-life character in the Belgian child abuse network, from back in the seventies, who I believe was called Baron de Bonvoisier, who, from the stories about him, is uncannily similar to your Otho character. Especially that bit when he just decides to give one of his concubines a nasty death, and then hack away at his neck. There is an anecdote about the Belgian Baron in which he is seen swinging a girl's severed head around by her long hair. So you have totally succeeded here in creating a very believable and real evil character. People like Otho do, in fact, exist in this world. The general public just never get to hear about them.
oh my gawd! but...when there are known ultra deviants such as fred west and jimmy saville...its no surprise that this sort of inhuman being exists. god knows what the bacchanalia of rome were actually like. you can imagine Prince Albert and his retinue in late victorian england getting up to all sorts of depravity with total impunity
Hmm, maybe have some Lovecraftian monster that really is all of those sorts of people. I mean, something that has each of them sticking out at odd angles from its colossal nebulous bulk. That sort of thing.
The small, scary portal is an awesome idea, and it sure got scarier in this episode! The Count certainly is an amazingly powerful character - horrible, yes, but "real," if you know what I mean. A particularly nasty addition to my imagination, but a testament to your creative powers. This guy is WAY worse than Jabba, imho).
Funnily, I was listening to something on BBC Sounds last night and they mentioned Gormenghast… and it reminded me of your serial. And that was a vast trilogy.
I'm about to read it and will comment on the story soon, but I don't mind multi-part stories... though I can see how you might be on a hurry to get some of these guys out of your head!

It is certainly about time I checked out Keith’s work. So much to do, so little time!
there's just too much on here...i can't manage it!

Yeah, totally.
in my story that Jiro Jones is in, the evil character is all of historys worst beings ... jack the ripper, ghengis khan, nero, mayan god priest, etc
Glad you're not holding back in any way then!
